The KTEP Application Workshop Presentation Team

Christopher M. Avery, Ph.D.

President and co-founder of Partnerwerks, Inc., Christopher is one of the most quoted, outspoken and successful authorities on individual and team performance available to executives and corporations today. His extensive research focuses exclusively on how well-educated, well-compensated professionals build, maintain and leverage successful and productive relationships with people over whom they have no direct control.

No quantitative team assessment tool accurately portrayed what Christopher’s qualitative assessments showed to be happening in a team. In 1998 he learned of KTEP's developers' work in Australia. The KTEP model supported his own experience of professionals in teams. Christopher contacted them and pioneered the use of KTEP in the United States with selected Partnerwerks clients. The developers of KTEP claim it was Christopher’s innovation to show how an individual perceives the team against the collective perceptions of all the members.

Christopher is the author of the popular book Teamwork Is An Individual Skill: Getting Your Work Done When Sharing Responsibility. His idea-rich commentary has been featured in Investors Business Daily, the Chicago Tribune, Training+Development magazine, HR Executive and Executive Excellence in addition to appearing on NPR, HR.com and USAToday.Com.

Michael L. Begeman

When not sailing, Michael has spent most of the last 20 years conducting research and leading workshops on collaboration skills, team-building, complex problem solving, team-based decision making and meeting facilitation. An independent consultant and facilitator since 1996, Michael was engaged by 3M to define, create and manage what became known as the 3M Meeting Network. Through virtual & face-to-face seminars, Michael has educated business professionals about team effectiveness and team technologies. As a leader in the area, Michael was quoted by USA Today, Business Week, The New York Times, Fast Company, Chicago Tribune, Christian Science Monitor, Voice of America and National Public Radio's "All Things Considered" among others. When Michael came into contact with KTEP, he said "At last, something solid in the world of soft-stuff!"
